SUMMARY:ASA Now Support Group
DESCRIPTION:At ASA Now\, we understand that sometimes the best support for adoptive\, foster\, or kinship care parents comes from other parents who’ve walked a similar path. Our monthly Peer-to-Peer In-Person Support Group is a safe space for kinship\, foster\, and foster/adoptive parents to share knowledge\, experiences\, and provide emotional\, social\, and practical support. \n️ When: 2nd Thursday of every month \nThis invaluable gathering offers a chance to connect with families facing the unique challenges of raising children who’ve experienced trauma and loss\, or who’ve been involved with child welfare. We’re here to provide resources and support for emotional\, behavioral\, and medical needs. \n✨ Who can attend: Kinship Caregivers\, Licensed Foster Caregivers\, Foster/Adoptive Caregivers and Guardianship Caregivers for children who previously were or are under the custody of Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS). \nPlease note: Due to sensitive topics\, we kindly request no children over 12 months old. \nLight refreshments will be provided\, but feel free to bring a snack or drink to share (optional). \nNo registration deadline. Have questions? Call (623) 428-1592 or email Events@ASANow.org.

DESCRIPTION:Support Group & Craft Night \nWho can attend: Kinship Caregivers\, Licensed Foster Caregivers\, Foster/Adoptive Caregivers and Guardianship Caregivers for children who previously were or are under the custody of Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS). \nAt ASA Now\, we believe some of the best support an adoptive\, foster\, or kinship care parent can receive is from another parent. We believe that one of the most important things you can do is to have access to ongoing supports for your family. \nJoin us for this once a month Peer-to-Peer Support Group allowing kinship\, foster and foster/adoptive parents to provide knowledge\, experience\, emotional\, social and practical support to one another. \nSupport Group Gathering will give you an opportunity to meet and interact with other families who face the unique challenges of raising children with trauma\, loss and who have had child welfare involvement. We are here to provide support and resources to help meet the emotional\, behavioral or medical needs of children who have experienced foster care.
